What’s Coming in SumTotal Talent 19.2

SumTotal continues to impress with its functionality and usability improvements with each release. In the Talent 19.2 upgrade, due in July 2019, the focus is on bringing continuous feedback to mobile devices.

The mobile app contains all the functionality of the desktop version, with the ability to give request  feedback easily from the landing page.

You will find all the tools you need to provide feedback in any situation:

  • mentorship programs
  • project feedback
  • coaching, with a 1:1 Journal
  • My Feedback, where you view feedback given to you
  • Provided, which is feedback you have given to others
  • requests for feedback received and sent.
  • If you have direct reports, it takes only two taps to get to your Team page where you can manage the feedback for anyone on your team.

This mobile app is the complete package, and we appreciate the ability to manage feedback on the go andperfect for those times when you take part in unplanned, “ad hoc” coaching.

Download the SumTotal Mobile User Guide from SumTotal Connect to explore all the functionality of Talent on the go.

Administrators will want to review the Continuous Feedback section of the SumTotal Talent Performance and Goals Administrator Guide on SumTotal Connect.

Print-Friendly Performance Forms

This release enables print-friendly performance forms, with a smarter, space-efficient layout. Overview and header, goals, competencies, summary, and signatures will show on the form. Additional parts of the process will come in a future release.

Administrators should review Create or Edit a Performance Form (Survey): Action in the SumTotal Performance and Goals Admin guide, available at SumTotal Connect.

Other Improvements

The employee calibration tool, nBox, now gives you drag-and-drop functionality to move employees from one box to another and in and out of the unrated slideout.

You can now use Radio Buttons and Start Ratings in goal subsections

Admins can run the Talent Security Profile Assignment process in “Test only” mode. It creates log entries for each user who is assigned a talent profile by more than one talent profile assignment rule. See Manage  Security and Access Rights in the SumTotal Talent Administration Guide.

Testing your 19.2 Upgrade

Wrecommend that you test the changes in Staging right away to become familiar with the new administrative requirements.

Even more important is to test your business processes to ensure that backend technical updates have not affected them.
